An outstanding group of villains is provided too, beginning with Oni Garmadon, who appears more intimidating than ever! The spectacular Oni mask looks delightfully evil, with enormous teeth and red eyes contrasting against the metallic silver designs. Moreover, I love the pearl silver horns atop the mask, while the helmet underneath presents remarkable moulded detail. A dramatic 'X' adorns the chest, evidently associated with Samurai X. Additional distinguishing features are welcome, but I think this red 'X' is excessive, particularly since its integration with the torso could be improved. However, the golden blades are excellent and matching crosses appear on the side of each leg. I do wish the Crystal Beast was slightly larger, as it’s comically overpowered when you see both of them together. While numerous, NINJAGO mechs hardly ever achieve the substantial scale of 71775 Nya's Samurai X MECH. The sheer size of this model provides outstanding display value and I like how the designer has integrated features commonly associated with samurai. The articulated knees are appealing, of course, although not as versatile as the joints on 71738 Zane's Titan Mech Battle.
I really appreciate the ability to pose this mech – we have good flexion and extension on the hips, as well as generous movement around the shoulders. Instead… this looks like an unfinished render, with barely any shadows, inconsistent lighting and it just looking incredible uninspiring. It doesn’t help that the LEGO Ninjago logo, and the large QR code look so out of place. And here’s a better look at Master Wu’s face, and torso and leg prints, which I believe are brand new!
Fans will be delighted to add Oni Garmadon into their collection, and the primary antagonist of the Ninjago franchise does not disappoint in his demon-mask outfit. They see almost eye-to-eye, and since Nya isn’t part of the Ultra Combo Mech squad, you can have all five core ninjas “in play” with these two at the ready.
A great gift for LEGO fans – this 1003- One piece building set makes a great birthday gift for kids aged 10+ who love to play with mech and minifigures The Samurai X Mech is dual-wielding 2 golden swords to slice and dice her way through crystal beasts. Nya’s Samurai X Mech’s most notable innovation is just how well the knees work. Using triple joints, the knees are among the sturdiest yet for a LEGO mech, and provide really strong support, allowing you to strike more dramatic action poses with the mech. Also, I love the magenta crystal on Pythor's forehead, replacing a blue crystal and matching the predominant colour throughout the Crystalized range. The purple designs across his head and tail are also attractive. The general's peculiar chain weapon seems unwieldy, while Garmadon carries standard katana. Two more figures here: The Mechanic and a Vengestone Warrior. I love the use of transparent elements in the Warrior’s leg and left arm. A great legacy from Vidiyo.
A new season of Ninjago (Season 15: Crystalized) is coming up, and with it, a massive wave of sets coming in Summer 2022. The release dates of Ninjago Crystalized are split up, with the UK and Europe getting the sets in June 2022, and the US, Canada and Australia getting the sets 2 month later in August. Equally impressive is Lil' Nelson, whose previous minifigures have portrayed his ambition to become a warrior and his honorary role as the purple ninja. This minifigure is more practically dressed for combat, featuring a mask beneath his hood and a scabbard for two medium azure weapons! The hood is particularly effective, covering a hat with an unusual Wu symbol across the front.
