About this deal

Robbe: I’m gonna tell you to take Thomas’s thoughts on these, especially if you enjoyed previous models of the Boston. I mean, I thought this was a good shoe, but it didn’t jump out at me as a go-to. It’s certainly better than a lot of shoes I’ve reviewed this year, but I’m not going to keep them by the front door where my wife can trip over them for weeks on end. That spot is reserved for only the best. Over the years, it has seen a number of releases, including Boost foam in 2013, cushioning material delivering responsive support that is more durable and provides greater energy return than traditional EVA foam. Tailored Fiber Placement debuted in 2018 with the Solar Boost, and this new design technique, which involves individually placing each fiber of the upper, creates an extra snug fit.

toe space, now it's more spacious, to the point that comparing the previous model, it seems we had the wrong number; That question is still unanswered by the Boston 9. My instinct is that the shoes would be just fine with out it.After the Boston Boost 5, I tried versions 6 and 7. However, I did not like them as much as the five, due to their lower heel collar and more sluggish feel. The amount of coverage seems to be the same with bit more added in the midfoot to accommodate the widening of the torsion system and to keep stability consistent. Bubbles’ body jolted. Could it be? A resurrection on Easter morning? Miraculously, Bubbles began to live up to his name, swimming against the swirl. The family jumped into action and pulled the beloved undead family pet from the bowl. Had little Meg been tending to the Jesus Christ of goldfish all along? Continental sole: the layout has changed slightly, especially for the Torsion system, see below for details. From what emerges from Adidas, the choice was made to allow an improvement in the grip on the ground. We applaud the choice, thinking that it was already a strength of this model. The Adidas Boston Boost 5 was a nearly perfect shoe for me: lightweight, durable, springy, and smooth. I bought multiple pairs and used them for all types of running: long runs, trails, workouts, daily training, and races.

My first run was a short 5k, and again things were positive, soft but responsive and with some speed the shoe came alive. Perhaps the only niggle was the lacing, too tight too loose.... The box came and was opened to reveal a new pair of Boston 12's and the first impressions were good. They look great, but looks can be deceiving. The family scooped up Bubbles and the funeral procession began. To little Meg, the ten-foot journey to the bathroom seemed like a miles-long death march. As her feet hit the tile floor, Meg laid eyes on the porcelain tomb where Bubbles would be laid to rest. With a dull plop and a sad pull on the handle, Bubbles began his journey into the afterlife.Robbe: Thomas mentioned the “missile” design of the shoe above. I actually found it to be a little bit restrictive in the forefoot. It just didn’t feel quite as comfortable as other uppers, and honestly it’s a little stiff.

Robbe: I’m going to be honest in that I’m working through some injury stuff so didn’t get in the 20 miles on this, so take my review with a grain of salt. The Stretchweb Continental rubber outsole is very much similar to the 7. The materials are the same but the pattering on the 8 is different. The upper is an improvement too. On the surface, the knitted-mesh upper looks like it would be warm. There aren’t any large pores on the upper to vent heat, but it did a decent job with the Coolever mesh lining in extremely hot (90º F with 85% humidity) running conditions. Instead of finding hidden eggs and chocolate bunnies, little 5-year-old Meaghan discovered a lifeless body, face-up in the water. That's why we don't think there are big break points. On the one hand the generous presence of rubber in the sole, combined with the Boost foam, considered by experts to be very durable, will make it possible to run really long. Even the double-layered mesh sole is really durable, in which case we might be more worried about the feeling of warmth than the rest: Now, that I have run 50 miles in the Adidas Adizero Boston 8, I have noticed some durability issues and have a couple of critiques, but I am largely pleased with the shoes’ snappy and do-everything-well capabilities. Appearance of the Adizero Boston 8 I enjoy running in the Boston 8 and will keep them in my rotation in the future. The shoe has a simple and race-like feel but can handle the rigors of daily training. The upper performs well but feels cheap in hand. The Adizero Boston range is designed for runners who prioritise speed and responsiveness. Previously known for being a little more on the 'firm' side, the Boston 12 was tested across 19 sessions with Adidas professional athletes in Kenya to find out exactly how this shoe could be reworked into a better version.

I have always questioned whether this system really provides any technical advantage or if just adds to the shoe’s weight. For medium runs, the shoe clearly shows the reason why it was designed. We have tried them both on repeated short and "for 4 times the turn of the death". The Boston were reactive, but not as responsive to the previous model 7. On the other hand, we were impressed by the good protection. Clearly the design of the shoe is excellent and the feeling of support and stability is a hallmark of Adidas. Long runs However, I am not sure how it holds up with regard to durability. After 50 miles, I have already noticed some worn areas on the outsole. Particularly, there’s a tear in the rubber at midfoot on the right shoe. The Boston 8 maintains its standing as one of the rare shoes that feel fast during a 5k and reliable enough to eat up the daily miles. Grippy and hard-wearing Continental rubberThe Boston 9s continue to employ a Continental blown-rubber outsole in a grid pattern that delivers the best traction I have ever experienced in a shoe.
