Just be careful how you prime the models, I used cryone spray paint (white) to good effect, however some of the tinyest details became muddled, probably because I lingered too long on one spot. It gets a little worse because I intend to make a drummer and a banner bearer for both the Perry band and the GW band.

The problem was that the arm integrated with the banner pole suggested a particular angle for attachment which when coupled with the lean of the body caused the heavy plastic flag to overhang the base. I blend in the integrated base of the models with the square flat bases to which they are glued with a layer of Milliput. The Perry kit comes with some weird bases that probably make sense for historical games but which are a bit unusable for Warhammer Fantasy Battles.

Luckily I have a pile of flat square bases from the Northmen and Living Dead models I had from a Fireforge Games kickstarter which I can use.

Thus, every province and each city-state in the Empire has its own army which is equipped and maintained at its own expense.When nnot fielding my spears, I tend to also run 2x units of these guys in units of 30x in a 5x6 formation, making them quite an effective tarpit unit, and added with each units detachment of 15x Halberds, can cause quite a headache for other opponents. I get that someone might not want to make the kit partly of crossbows and partly of guns but go all the way on one type.

There may be some among the GW fanboys who are utterly mystified how I could find any non-GW product superior to a GW product in any respect. They are more dynamic than the old ones, the poses are better, they arent hard to rank up (just plan better when you assemble) and i actually like all the extra stuff they have on, it adds character (something the old ones didnt have). The footsloggers must cover every inch under their own steam, carry all their kit, and even forage for their own food.As we can see here the heroic scale body is hardly different in height to the true scale body but is about half again as thick.

Now, the variety is what I like most, even if it is not the best pose or dressed the way I would like. Swordsmen: A effective unit due to the fact that they are WS4 and I4, they can stay around for awhile thanks to a decent sace and a 6+ parrry save, its no wonder that these guys are the most liked out of all of the empire infantry units. This inter-regimental rivalry is sometimes focused on tournaments like archery contests, wrestling, and Middenball, but sometimes it spills over into less formal pursuits. I have never expirienced old school stuff because I've only been in the hobby 4 years but personally I think the new figures look better.

This round was all about the bits and as much as I want to give it to GW for balance, I am giving it to Perry.
