Callie and Marie appear to be the second-oldest Inklings seen in-game, the oldest being Cap'n Cuttlefish. However, one can assume many Inklings older than them that don't participate in Turf War are somewhere absent from the city. Callie, along with Marie, first appeared in Issue 1 of the CoroCoro manga Splatoon, where she announced the CoroCoro Cup. She and Marie are hosts and commentators for that tournament. She also told Team Blue about Booyah Base along with Marie. On 30 April 2016, during the Splatoon Gachibon Festival at Niconico Chokaigi, it was announced that Squid Sisters amiibo would be released on 7 July 2016 in Japan, with overseas releases happening the following weekend. In Splatoon 3, some Inkling amiibo have the wrong eye colors. Inkling (Yellow) has plain yellow eyes (Row 1, Column 3), instead of having the one with an orange ring around it (Row 3, Column 4), the Splatoon 2 Inkling Girl has the eye color used on Octoling (Blue) (Row 3, Column 5), instead of her pink eyes (Row 1, Column 6), and the Splatoon 1 Inkling girl has red eyes (Row 1, Column 5) instead of her Orange eyes (Row 1, Column 4). The Inkling (Yellow), Octoling (Blue), and Smallfry amiibo were eventually released on 11 November 2022. When taking photos with Pearl and Marina, the player can choose if they will be dressed in their normal or Octo Expansion outfits. If the amiibo were used during a Splatfest, the player was able to take a photo on-stage with Off the Hook.
