One theory, provided by the idea that all the Pixar movies are connected in one universe, is that Inside Out’s Bing Bong is actually a monster from Monsters, Inc.’s universe. The idea is that he was a monster who was put into action when monsters began to rely on laughter instead of fear to do their jobs, but Riley remembers him as her imaginary friend because she was so young. It’s a great way to tie those two movies together if it turns out to be true. Leadership: Jessie is shown to be a strong and compassionate leader who seems to take inspiration from Woody. During her time with Andy, Jessie didn’t lead as much as Buzz and Woody, but did convince the toys to donate themselves to Sunnyside (although it being a bad idea). Later, after being held by Ron at a hotel, Jessie takes leadership “advise” from Combat Carl, which she later uses to save Woody and get Bonnie’s attention. Some time later, Jessie becomes more self-aware and becomes Bonnie’s new favorite toy. Because of this, Woody gives Jessie his badge before his departure to symbolize her new leadership (considering she’s Bonnie’s favorite), and learns to follow in his footsteps. Because of her popularity and strong lead in Toy Story 2, Jessie would later be honored with the Patsy Montana Entertainer Award from the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. Jessie would also go on to be the main protagonist of the short film Toy Story of Terror!.

In Toy Story 3, after Andy seemingly throws them away, it is Jessie who convinces the other toys to be given to Sunnyside Daycare, refusing to relive the trauma she felt when she was given away by Emily. She fails to realize that Andy intended to put them in the attic and that his mother threw them out by accident, and stubbornly refuses to listen to Woody when he tries to clear up the misunderstanding, arguing that Andy has moved on and that they must do the same. Jessie was honored with the Patsy Montana Entertainer Award from the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. In Hawaiian Vacation, after the toys come up with an idea of recreating Hawaii for Barbie and Ken, who have unexpectedly revealed themselves in Bonnie's room, Jessie acts as one of the Aloha Spirits, greeting Ken with an enthusiastic "ALOHA!".
