Who knows, perhaps someday we may even see Sagittarus Custodian Dreadnaughts such as the one shown in this picture by Adrian Smith. Instead of simply drawing power from the Warp, Magnus looked into it, learning from its swirling depths in a way that no-one else ever could. In many images of the Hamsa eye three of the fingers are elongated and emphasised, with the thumb and little finger reduced to vestiges. Leman Russ and his Space Wolves were sent to Prospero to end the Thousand Sons and Magnus once and for all.

Magnus paid no heed to this edict, instead choosing to continue his investigations into the Warp in secret. In fact it was generally reckoned that Magnus was the best wizard that had ever been, with the possible exception of the Emperor who was also very good at magic (alongside science and having big ideas). Magnus attempted to warn the Emperor of Horus’ betrayal through a psychic message, but due to the Emperor’s psychic barriers, the warning went unheeded. The warflocks are gathering for battle, the flux-cairns are daubed with dark sigils, all kinds of models from the Silver Tower boxset are enjoying separate releases and there are plenty of rumours (and not a little wishful thinking) that even more is on its way. Note also that whilst both Curze and Angron had their knuckles rapped at various points the only other legion to be shamed and reprimanded in quite such a grand fashion were the Word Bearers, again for too much loyalty rather than not enough).

He’s tough, but not as tough as many people will expect for 650pts and he can actually go down quite quick to concentrated fire, so the key is often gonna be keeping him in the air where he isn’t such an easy target.

Magnus the Red, Primarch of the Emperor’s 15th Legion, a psyker of such magnificent power he is second only to the Emperor himself; a psyker of such immense power that while he can feel the presence of the Sisters of Silence they’re pariah abilities have no effect on his power to manifest the energies of the warp and bend them to his will. Remember when you were a kid and you saw someone breaking the rules and ran to the teacher to tell, only to get in trouble yourself for being a tell-tale? Here it is at last; the thing we’ve all be waiting for – a set of Space Marines who aren’t squatting! Overall then it’s fair to say that these models have grown on me to become my favourite thing in the box – a tough choice given that I’m a huge fan of Iron Armour and Sisters of Silence alike.

Quite why more of his brothers didn’t tell him where to shove his ‘help’ is unclear but it certainly gave Lorgar the excuse to go around knocking on doors asking if anyone had a few minutes to talk about our lord and saviour the Primordial Annihilator. There he relented, giving himself wholly to the Ruinous Powers and to Tzeentch in particular, ascending to a new and more powerful form.
