About this deal

But when the locals take Thea under their wing, she begins to see Port Karadow and herself in a whole new light and begins to wish she could stay longer than her intended 3 weeks. But when she’s in Port Karadow, Thea has goals of her own to make her dreams come true as well as ticking activities off her Cornwall bucket list. Not only does the bright and cheerful Yellow Canary offer gluten-free scones but they also sell gluten-free pasties and a selection of other cakes – oh, and they’re dog-friendly too!

The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday by Cressida McLaughlin - Goodreads

Yep, situated halfway between Wadebridge and Bodmin on the beautiful Camel Trail, The Camel Trail Tea Garden is perfectly placed to provide you with a Cornish cream tea exactly when you need it most. The main romance was not hugely surprising, but it's the journey to get there that made this one hell of a ride. At Trebah Kitchen, you’ll get a fruit and plain scone, strawberry jam and of course, Cornish clotted cream, just the refuel needed to explore the gardens. Charlie has a new helper on her bus, her free-spirited and loveable cousin, Delilah, who’s paid a visit to the charming Cornish village of Porthgolow and is helping out on Charlie’s adorable cream tea bus. When her holiday to Cornwall with her best friend Esme faces a hiccup because Esme is unable to come Thea goes anyway armed with a list of things to do sites to see and a secret mission to see if she can possibly make her dream come true.

And with an abundance of local ingredients on our doorstep, it’s no surprise that you’ll find cream teas on many Cornish menus. In the evening, this cosy café turns into one of Falmouth's best bars serving up incredible cocktail creations, all served in vintage teapots with beautiful cups and saucers to keep your evening refined yet totally mad! The Cornish Cream Tea (pictured here at Artist's Light) is a tradition that has flourished since it was first introduced and made popular during the tourist boom which began in the 1850’s due to the opening of the railway. But I think the series has become so well established and we have even moved away from the original setting, although not too far, that perhaps the title is slightly misleading at this stage.

When a TV wildlife programme choses a rival location for their new series, Meadowsweet is under threat – unless Abby can whip up a plan to keep the visitors flocking. Either way, you get to enjoy a freshly baked scone alongside some proper Cornish tea and a generous amount of clotted cream and jam – you really can’t go wrong with this combination, can you?Anyway in this story we meet Thea and Ben, get to know them and their backgrounds, seeing how they interact with each other and ultimately get together and the obstacles that come part and parcel with that. I have no hope of going anywhere on holiday this year but reading this book I felt I was transported to the hot days of summer near the beach and I was with Thea on her holiday which turned into much more of a life journey than she had anticipated. Especially Swallowtail House, the rambling but empty country house that seems to look out at her each time she passes it’s shut-up windows.
